Ellis Hobbs Kick Return

Football is very dangerous

Hey guys,

Football is indeed a contact sport.  Often times, it's very dangerous.  This year I've witnessed tons of helmet to helmet hits.  Players are getting hurt every week.  I recently watched a broadcast where an ex football players turned analyst stated that there's equipment out there to help in these instances yet the NFL won't buy it.  Unbelievable.  These guys bring millions upon millions of dollars to this game...The least the NFL could do is maximize their safety.

Philadelphia Eagles DB Ellis Hobbs Leaves Field On A Stretcher

Philadelphia Eagles defensive back Ellis Hobbs(notes) left the field on a stretcher with a neck injury after taking a hit to the helmet on the second-half kickoff return against the New York Giants on Sunday night.
Hobbs had full movement in his extremities and X-rays were negative.
He gave the thumbs up with both hands as he was carted off. Hobbs, who was down on the field for 11 minutes while players from both teams gathered around him and the crowd fell silent, was hit by the Giants’ Dave Tollefson(notes) on the play and fumbled. The ball was recovered by the Eagles’ Clay Harbor(notes).
Last season, Hobbs, a six-year veteran, missed the final nine games of the season with a neck injury that required surgery.
